| HMS
Victory: |
Model designed entirely in-house by Rich, Dave and John.
It is our intention to produce the most historically accurate model of H.M.S.
Victory, as she was at Trafalgar. As you may be aware H.M.S. Victory is in
the process of being restored to her original Trafalgar configuration in time
for the bicentenary celebrations on October 21st 2005. We are working closely
with the curator for H.M.S. Victory to ensure that all planned amendments
to H.M.S. Victory will also be incorporated into our finished kits.
The first model under construction is at a scale of 1:72. We are aiming for
a release date of late April. As soon as we have a price we will publish it
here.
| Start of 1st
planking. The lower gunport strip has been shaped in such a way as to
allow the lime wood planks to run as fair as possible. |
||
| Planking at
the stern. |
||
| 1st planking
complete. The walnut prow and keel can now be glued in place as shown. |
||
| Stern counter
fitted after 1st planking. |
||
|
Start of 2nd planking. This starts at the main wale
position. |
||
| Progress of
2nd planking. Below the main wale is planked using 1mm x 6mm walnut
strip, above will be 1mm x 5mm walnut strip. |
||
| Inner bulwark
gunport strip (again with pre-cut gunports) in place. The hull is extremely
rigid at this point. |
