Comments:
This was my second kit and I thoroughly enjoyed building it. I am quite
pleased with the result. I opted for a natural wood finish - so no paint
used. The masts and spars were stained walnut and then satin acrylic varnished.
Everything else I treated with two coats of tung oil. I found this really
brought out the colour of the wood whilst retaining a matt finish. I'm not
sure whether this should also have been varnished? I used some walnut stain
on the bulwark rail and the wales. They have come up quite dark and hence
give a nice contrast to the natural walnut of the hull.
Took me just over two months to complete. I would recommend this to a beginner.
Not too difficult but it makes a nice model.
